When SHTF hits, if all you have is rice and beans, you are going to be miserable. Your body will crave protein, and freeze drying is the best way to store it for the long term.

Each Get Ready Protein Pack contains the equivalent of 20 lbs of premium cooked protein freeze dried and sealed in thick mylar pouches with an oxygen absorber to keep your food fresh for decades.

The food grade hard plastic bucket holds 4 individually packaged Protein Packs. The bucket protects your investment from rodents, while making stacking easy. The individual packaging gives you the flexibility to use whatever portion of protein is right for the meal you're cooking.

The freeze drying process removes all the water, which keeps bacteria from growing. Unlike canned meat, the texture doesn't degrade over time, and research shows 90% of the food's nutrients are preserved.

Even a small amount of chicken or beef can transform a plate of rice or a bowl of soup for a large group.

FAQs

Rehydration Instructions

If you're rehydrating the entire pouch, use 2 1/2 cups of water and allow time for meat to soften. Hot water will generally take 5-10 minute, warm or cold water will take longer.

Does protein need to be cooked?

This product is pre-cooked. It is safe to eat directly from the pouch, however most people will want to rehydrate and warm it up first.

How do I cook with this?

When used as an ingredient in a liquid heavy dish, like a soup, the liquid in the soup will rehydrate the protein.

If you are using it as a standalone ingredient where you would like the texture of the protein to be crispy, consider searing the meat after rehydrating.

Do I need to use it all at once?

No. The mylar pouch is resealable. You can use a little at a time.

However, every time you open it is going to let in oxygen, and eventually the oxygen absorber will fill up and will be less effective.

If you have replacement oxygen absorbers, you can replace them, but if this is an SHTF situation, I would plan on using the contents of the pouch within a week or two of first opening it.

If you have refrigeration, it would be a good idea to keep it in the refrigerator after opening.

How should I store this product?

For long term storage, keep pouches in a cool, dry, dark place like a basement.

Mylar bags don't stack very well, so consider using a tote, bucket or cardboard box to store the pouches.

Are the pouches varmint safe?

The mylar pouches do a good job at keeping mice and bugs out, but a determine mouse or rat can chew through the pouch if it really wants to get in.

Plastic totes and buckets will help protect the pouches from varmints.

Grass fed, non-GMO or Organic?

All of our beef is grassfed from our suppliers farm – their cows are pasture raised and hay supply cut and baled there.

Cattle also browse freely on trees and brush in the pasture, eat fallen fruit, and sometimes get the leftover apple pomace from a good cider pressing. They are as natural as it gets.

Chicken is raised "cagefree" and given NON GMO feed at a small partner chicken breeder where they raise and process all of the chicken on site in small batches.

So yes, grass fed. Yes, non-GMO. No on Certified Organic, but raised as cleanly and naturally as possible without paying the government to let you say so.
